numbers in my name

for some weird reason my name always has the number 566 after it and i can´t delete or change it. only way to get rid of those numbers are filling all the spaces in the name (like theartistformerlyknownasjeebus or |DH|master_jeebus_____________ that exactly fills every space). when i look at the name in the menu, it doesn´t show any numbers at all so i can´t delete them but when i play, they suddenly appear like |DH|master_jeebus 566.

too dumb to figure this one out by myself so i´m asking u.. this started about the time we took on b3 but i suspect it has something to do with my fresh install of cod. either way, all help would be appreciated. especially all help that doesn´t include "re-install cod" =)

4 ways i know, i had this problem too

1.go to your cfg and change your name there,
2.make a bind for your name eg. bind 0 name |DH|master jeebus
3.go to multiplayer options to change your name, click your name there and press ctrl+end and then delete your name by pressing backspace ,ofc and there u go type your name
4. change your name through console by typing /name

as i am not allowed to post external links yet.... i'll try and explain some information how to edit your config

go to your installation directory of call of duty united offensive, in there theres a folder called uo.
open the uo folder and search for the file uoconfig_mp.cfg open this with notepad++

when you open it with normal notepad everything is not neatly ordered (with notepad++ it is)

when its opent search for (with ctrl + f) seta name (for example mine: seta name "^1-^9Fl^70^9da^1-^7'|^1RDA")

just edit whats in between the quotes and save your config (do this all without xfire running)
when you saved it start up xfire and then start up the game (thats offcourse if you have xfire)

indeed notepad++ is good, but if you dont want to download it, just use your wordpad, im sure you have this,

thanx. i have to check out this so called "config" thing u are talking about..

nr 3 didn´t work. i´ll try the others next time i play.

as long as i remember (so the next guy/girl who gets this same problem also know how to fix it): the one that worked right out of the box was changing ur name in the console. easy enough.
