My Ping on UK-Servers

Hey guys,

since yesterday my ping is making me crazy. It seems like my computer hates UK-located server.
I have the same ping as before on other servers.

I seems that only UK-Servers are effected of this. Even when i make a speedtest (AVG for example) to a server located in London, i get a ping over 140.

I know i dont have the best connection, but this is strange.

Anyone else had a problem like this before? I cant imagine that my connection is the problem, cause on other servers nothing changed...

Any thoughts on this?

it´s due to the way (at least in my case) ur ISP (or even country) routes ur traffic from ur country to the uk.

that´s why every finn has shite ping on every uk server. if this is the case, i´m sorry to say, there´s not much to do about it. for example i have a 100 mb line and get ping around 80-100. yay.

Yep i also have this problem my ping is constan >100... altough i have rly good internet speed

Hopefully it will get better in a few days...

If it's affecting a lot of other people, it's probably due to a problem at one of the nodes (hops) that carries the data. You'll probably find more information about it on your ISP's forums.

Last time that happened to me, the story was that highway maintenance cut through into the fibre pipes whilst working on something else. Took them at least 3 days to fix. Ping was sky-high to any server, bar the odd UK based one.

For the records: It is 4:46 and my ping on other UK servers is fine for now. So it was yesterday night. But i cant find DH server atm. But I'm way too drunk to play anyway.

Hope this gonna have an end soon...

At night, half of the server is drunk soooo .... =)

I still have this problem sometimes my ping is about 100 sometimes 140 ..very weird
If its due to ISP then why did it get worst ? I mean i always had a fine 40 ping and now suddenly its <100
First i thought it was a german problem but not all payers from germany are effected by this..i have no clue what causes this problem..
any more ideas? its no fun to play with a 140 ping

I found out if you use a programm like expat shield, which seems to make you use a proxy server in UK your ping will be fine for some time. But the connection crashed after some minutes when i tested it.

If I make a speedtest AVG for example:

choose a server in London = bad ping
choose another server in London = fine ping
coose a server in bristol = fine ping

Anyone can say where the server is located in UK?

London.... it's on the same ISP as the GITS KOBK server.

I just found out what the prob is. Seems like my provider changed the routing. There is nothing to do than wait and hope they gonna change soon. pathping shows the failure on router from my provider.

well but i have on every gb server a higher ping than on others^^ normally i would have one like 80 and on the gb-servers my ping is around 100

Yeah it really sucks!

One info from different forums says, they wont fix it before end of January 2013. I hope they get it fixed sooner.

Looks like theres nothing we can do at the moment..monster should buy a new server located in ger or nl
Hopefully it gets fixed faster then end of january.. no uo in my christmas hollidays would make me sad

I see a lot of people lagging atm, actually. and..strangely enough, many from the UK. I asked them to fix their internet, and all of em replied that it was a routing problem..

I've spoken to 4 people from the UK, 2 from germany, and 7 location unkown.

My provider was talking about capacity problems, that caused the high pings. Maybe other nations are effected from this too. For now everything is working fine for me.

If more people are effected, I would recomend them to try tracert or pathping command to see where the bottlleneck is.
