few tips

I don´t know if I should place this here, or in general posts. but, I´ll try here

well, I had some incredible lagg. Nobody could tell me what was happening, so I started to google.

tip #1.
check your firewall. it could be that that fella blocks your internet for Cod, making you lagg like a G6. that's what happend to me. quite easy to handle, quite easy to solve. just go to your firewall, and make a rule for cod_uo multiplayer, that grants him acces to internet.

tip #2.
well, after some googleing and asking friends,
i've found 3 simple codes which you can typ in your console. opened by the wiggly, ~.

/cl_maxpackets 100
/snaps 40
/rate 25000

guess most of you know these, it's just to help out people whom don't.

btw, I got an issue, which I can't seem to solve. i get an error : awaiting cd key authorisation. it's doing that for hours, but can't seem to solve anything. COD chrashes, and I have to wait 5-6 hours before i can play again. it didn't happen again for about a week, but I used to have it quite a lot.

anyone knows what it could be?

i've had that same thing about 5 times. but fortunately it's history now. but fps lagg is still there now and then..

you guys full of problems or what

@legenda, yeah I had it too. Now it magicaly dissapeared. I won't complain, though xD

I'm not sure at all, but i think it's because someone plays with your cd key. Did you give it to a friend ?

@ Green, if you give your cd-key to a friend to use it, you only get an error when your in the same server. in my experience tho.

@Random, tried reinstalling CoD?

and for the fps lag, options>performance>sync every frame OFF
/com_maxfps125(333)
/cg_drawfps 1

watch out with doing 333 as max since mosdt people only allow 250 as max. the DH server does allow it.
as for why you you have to use 125 and not 250. i prefer 125 over 250 because it's more used by ''trickjumpers'' so you can get in spots other people cant

nope, never did. always used it for my own use. so that´s why it´s so weird.

re-installed it many times, many many many times xD. thanks for those commands, i'll try those when i'll arrive home. (im at school atm).

I'm really only now that you can solve it earlier so I had never heard of them but I do not think you blame lagzzz always, just sometimes you Game bad from day to day ;p and then you have guys who blame ping ..... but .. they are the player

true, changing your resolution will enhance you fps, altho i think that if your vid card cant handle it, imo you should buy a new one. this game is from 2004 come on! xD

check windows of virus if you have lag .... Cod Uo dosen't need high pc ... i'm 1 giga ram , very low processor and 1 cpu ..and ATI 128 ....it works well with me .....the problem sometime in Connection above your name at multiplayer option it must be Lan/Cabel/xDSL....about cl_maxpackets 100 ....30 is better !

btw guys, support me for DH (A) applied couple of days ago, posted a few screenies

but I honestly think it's my connection. it fails at random moments, leaving me with 999 ping for several seconds. usually happends 2-3 times ea game, leaving me be killed. apart from that, my router is fine. it works very fast, except for the failling....


and I got a ATI mobility radeon HD 5470 card, got a HD LED LCD screen, should be able to play cod at highest resolution. i got a P6100 processor, with a 500 GB HDD hard drive. newest of the newest from acer (it's a notebook) so cod shouldn't lagg for me. I always play on highest resolution, but I expierence little lagg. just a few frames that freeze now and then. Can live with that

I got 1 little question again. I got my screen on 1024 x 768, but it doesn't let me play cod on fullscreen. even if I change my resolution, it still let's me play on 3/4 of my screen. any1 knows how I can play fullscreen?

Actually the higher your maxpackets is, the better the server "understand" what you do, but the higher your ping is. So basically, if you want to sprAaaAAaaaAAa*raaage*aaaAay, use 30 ; if you want to play elite rifle shooter, use 100.

I looked at pro cfgs, and they had binds to change the maxpackets var depending of weapon they used.
