buffer overrun detected

I recently erased my whole hard disk, and I re-installed cod 1 and UO. Now, they both don't work. I get an error, saying buffer overrun detected, when I try to play. Does anyone know how I can solve this?

I had the same problem last year.

I updated my video driver, but the last version of the driver did not support CoD graphics.... so I had to roll it back to a version prior to May 2011.

But this may not apply to you if you're not using nVidia.

not using nVidia. I'm using a ATI mobility Radeon HD 5470.

any way on how to fix this?

try reinstalling the driver alltogether
maybe u deleted some wrong .DLLs when cleaning ur PC

how can I re-install my driver alltogether?

Run the video driver installer. Like you would when installing Windows.

i have no idea where that one is. forums told me I need to download that driver installer, but that seems unlogic to me. Windows automaticly installed it, so idk what to do F:

1. Check the type of video card you have (ATI mobility Radeon HD 5470)
2. Go on their site and download the video card driver. ( http://support.amd.com/US/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx )
3. If you don't know ur exact specifications, click on the "Detect and install link" ( http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx )
4. Install it.
