SD server!

Its good for us to make a vote because some of our players ask me for all weapon and the rest ask for rifle only!

ouch i want to play them both cuz when u play long aw u want to rifffle and when u play long riffle u want aw :/

Isn't there a way to add voting for rifle-only / all-weapons rounds?

is this not better that only members decide? instead of some random dudes?

nope..we can only make a cfg for rifle and all weapons that if you want to play aw then just launch the aw cfg and if u want to play ro then do the same launch ro cfg via rcon/console.(only admins can do this)

even though i, myself, would like it to be rifle only, i voted all weapons. 2 reasons:

1. the most important thing here is sd. not weapons. if 1 player would like to play sd but hates to play with rifles, this person perhaps wouldn´t join.

2. there are similar sd rifle only cod uo servers out there. by making it all weapons, we could have something that "no1" else has. a DH-only experience =)

may we can choose one week ro and the next week aw and see when we get more player to the server
but i would change the rounds, may when one tem reached 10 rounds change to next map, cause its getting bored for the other team

instead of the weapons we should better have more slots so we can play 10vs10 like dh vs dh :p or bigger wars

There are 20 slots...

Why vote rifle only ? When you want a rifle just take 1.

i only read comments of guys who said they wanna have aw. but 12 voted for ro, can i ask for ur reasons for it?
cause i have still the opinion, the server would be more popular with aw :p

I voted for RO because I like RO gaming more than AW.
Personal preference.

i can explain my statement, and i can only tell by my personal experience (so this is only my opinion, nhf )

when you play RO the guys with the small pings have a big advantage and they can rush in your face because there are NO grenades or close combat weapons, but when they rush in AW you can defend yourself with an automatic weapon or a grenade itself, you have to be more cautious. there is big camping in both gamestyles , mainly because people are still getting used to play S&D but with the time the camp is going to get "rarer?" (i dont know how to say that). anyway there are a lot of RO servers around and it would be a breath of fresh air to have a server that would be the only one with the S&D-AW-MAP ROTATION combo. there is no such server atm i think.

and an another + would be that the |DH|-S&D-unexperienced members would have the possibility to learn the names of the positions on the maps therefore getting better and more used to that gamestyle, while in RO they can just brainlessly rush because there are no anti-rush nades falling on their heads so they mostly follow the guy that is the topfragger.

That's a good point. But the rushing/camping argument can be said for AW as well. The real gameplay difference in SD is when it comes to war/public modes.

The mindless rushing is present in all forms of public SD because it does not matter if you die or don't. When it comes to a war/scrim where the result is important, people are more careful. So what you are looking for in this server (as for tactics) will never happen since there are a lot of newbies around. Try to badger Sixer/Monster/Jackyll to call you up in scrims and you'll experience what SD is really about. For me, public SD is just Counter-Strike with WW2 weapons.

PS: We are currently the highest ranked SD RO server and second ranked RO server. Probably when we loose some of that traffic, Monster's gonna try some alternatives. AW will be played at one point or another.

oh, i have some S&D experience its just that you cant defend yourself if you have a higher ping and if you're not a skilled player, so if a good players comes the less skilled people will get frustrated and leave, but with a mp44 or something they can fight back cos they have a higher rate of fire (and more probability to shot him down).
